The Strategic Point of Traffic between Honshu and Kyushu
Well-connected with many regions by expressways, rail, sea, and air, we provide a perfect base for business in Western Japan. The Higashikyushu Expressway was opened on April 24, 2016, greatly shortening the time to travel to the Oita and Miyazaki regions. Our superiority is further increasing as a logistic base covering Western Japan with three expressways from Kitakyushu respectively leading to Honshu, East Kyushu, and West Kyushu.
Higashikyushu Expressway <Between Kitakyushu and Miyazaki>
With Kitakyushu as a starting point, a new expressway is under construction connecting the prefectures of Fukuoka, Oita, Miyazaki and Kagoshima. The section between Kitakyushu and Miyazaki was fully opened in April 2015 and travel time between the two has been greatly reduced. Also, the Kyushu and Oita Expressways have been directly connected, forming an efficient network.
